When waitress Camryn Hunt witnesses a murder on her way home from work one night, she’s forced into protective custody with handsome small-town sheriff, Holden Parker, as her guard. Despite the bleak circumstances, the gorgeous San Juan Island location and break from her dreary life might be pleasant—except that the sheriff takes his job so very seriously.
Holden is determined that no harm come to Camryn, unlike the last time he was tasked with keeping a woman safe. If only Camryn didn’t remind him so much of his other failure—and didn’t intrigue him so thoroughly. Their growing attraction can only complicate things.
